The terms that govern using Venture Trail.

By creating an account or using Venture Trail, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We verify this using the date of birth you provide at signup.

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. Let us know right away, via Contact, if you think your account has been compromised.

• Venture Trail costs $20/month or $150/year, billed automatically until you cancel.
• New subscribers can start with a 7-day free trial, which unlocks company profiles only - Evaluate, Alerts, Compare, and full postmortems require an active paid subscription. A payment method is required to start a trial, and it converts to a paid subscription automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
• You can cancel anytime from Settings; you'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
• All charges are non-refundable, including for unused time in a billing period. If something's gone wrong with a charge, reach out through Contact and we'll take a look.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your card details.

Don't scrape, bulk-download, or attempt to reproduce the archive; don't try to circumvent the subscription paywall; don't submit false, defamatory, or plagiarized content through Contribute; don't use the service to abuse, spam, or attack others.

Anything you submit through Contribute is reviewed by us before it's used anywhere. By submitting, you confirm it's accurate to your knowledge and that you have the right to share it, and you grant us a license to use, edit, and publish it as part of the archive if we choose to. We're not obligated to publish any submission, and a rejected submission doesn't entitle you to anything.

The company research, postmortems, and Evaluate verdicts on Venture Trail are for informational and research purposes only - they're not financial, legal, or investment advice, and shouldn't be your only basis for a business decision. Cause- of-failure writeups are our analysis of the sources we cite as of the date cited, not a verified account from the companies involved, and are presented as such rather than as proven fact. We work to keep the archive accurate and sourced, but we don't guarantee completeness, currency, or that any particular outcome will repeat.

Evaluate is limited to 20 requests per hour per account to keep the service reliable for everyone. This should comfortably cover normal use, including back-and-forth follow-ups on the same idea.

The Venture Trail archive, design, and software are our property (or used under license). You may not copy, resell, or redistribute it. Content you submit under section 6 stays yours, subject to the license you grant us there.

We can suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms. You can close your own account at any time from Settings.

Venture Trail is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use Venture Trail after a change means you accept the update.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Sweden.
